There are some pretty amazing artists here in The Pit. Some fantastic food being cooked and photographed. I spend a lot of time just perusing pictures.
Not sure about everyone else but I would certainly order a calendar full of these wonderful displays of talent.
Perhaps make it a contest for the monthly photo, or even a collage of the top 3 for that month??
It would be extra cool if one of my cooks happened to make the cut.

You might want to be more specific than just "a calendar". I just heard that Panhead John has already sent his sequined thong and matching chaps to the cleaners ... and the reason he's running late with the Bronco award ceremony is ... uh ... something "Brazilian" ... uh ... whatever that is ... 😵â€ðŸ’« ...
Yeah, I start to see the downside of this idea. At least from a "contest" type format. What would be the proper way to ask permission to build one for myself, for a test run? I'm not sure of the etiquette of doing something like this. Let alone any infringement that could occur.
I suppose members could submit photos they would give permission to be used in a calendar. Allowing individuals to chose from those and having our own made.
Retired, living in Western Mass. Enjoy music, cooking and my family.
Current cookers Weber Spirit 3 burner with a full insert griddle added. A 22" Kettle with vortex, SnS and a Smokey Joe. The most recent addition is a Pit Barrel Jr with bird hanger, 4 hooks and cover. ThermoWorks Smoke 2 probe, DOT, 2 ThermoPops and a Thermapen MK4. A Thermoworks RFX Gateway 2 probe meat thermometer.
Nice concept. But a large commitment to collect, select, produce and distribute. Members would need a voluntary as the Mods have they hands full containing Panhead John .
This sorta would be easy to do as far as the pics go. Now please don not take this as a slight to any of the well deserving members cuz there are tons of quality, high quality pics provided, but Richard Chrz in bread & Ernest in food & there’s 12 months.
This is where any issues creep in for sure. We have some people that just straight up do it better for lack of a better way to put it. Plus you then have content ownership issues which need to be addressed since im assuming a calendar unlike the monthly email would have a monetary value. All becomes a huge PITA but i can say i would happily have peoples cooks on the wall in my kitchen

Do something glorious with the proceeds.
Just sayin!
I was about to post a topic about a "calendar" and then saw yours. Can I piggyback this and ask if anyone's considered creating a calendar of the top 50 contests throughout the year? Or can I already find this someplace else?
Actually I have looked into the idea since I take pride in my photography. A print version is probably out of the question. It is a MASSIVE amount of work, selecting the photos, getting them in hi-res for reproduction from members and converting to CMYK color space for separations (minimum 300 dpi). Then there is layout and design. What holidays go on it? I wanted to include BBQ events like the birthdays of important people and events. 4 color printing is expensive so the price would likely be expensive, perhaps $20?
Now a digital calendar might be do-able and members could print it out, but I don't know if there is software for this. In any case, I am working pretty much full time on my next book. Deadline is March 1. And the rest of our team doesn't have much time. If a member wants to take charge we'll do what we can to help.
