Santa Maria: Design Question

I am having a Santa Maria Grill built and I was thinking about adding 3 hooks or brackets on each of the uprights. At 4'' , 12' , & 20" above the Firebox

I would use these to hold a Rotisserie Skewer, and have the ability to raise or lower the skewer

Thoughts?

I’m doing something similar. If it is like my LSG I’m having plates made to outset from the uprights so I can mount the motor and bearing brackets. I am going to use a motor so I have an additional set for my two levels instead of your three.

I have had my 1st cook and now I think I will get a skewer (or 2) and place across the width of the cooking area

I can keep a fire hot on either end have the skewer in the middle od over the fire....no need for hooks or mounts
