This story in the NY Post made me chuckle. Apparently people use social media to show off their outdoor cooking skills...

I can see that being true, every time I fire up the smoker I BBM/text the boys and let them know what I'm up to.
Everything from preparation to smoking to the result.
Running commentary with pics.
Some replies are extremely complimentary....some are somewhat less than complimentary....but all in good fun.
I hope.

- If not cooking outdoors, I am cooking on the stovetop with my 14" carbon steel wok, 12" CI skillet, or in the oven with my two Lodge CI pizza pans, or two dutch ovens. I've also got a nifty Lodge carbon steel grill pan that rocks for veggies outdoors.
I’ve got an Instagram account Jims_Grill that my daughter set up for me to post pictures of what I am cooking. Mostly it’s the same stuff I post here to the Show Us What You Are Cooking thread. And it copies to Facebook. I gained 50 or so followers in the past year on that. Lately i’ve been lazy and not even taken any pictures the past few cooks, even to post here. Guess I am over it...

FireMan actually my wife asked me to stop posting the cooks to Facebook (it's all I post to Facebook), as she felt bad everyone seeing all the fancy steaks and other stuff we are eating over here, when there are hungry people in the world, or something along those lines anyway.

Large Big Green Egg, Weber Performer Deluxe, Weber Smokey Joe Silver, Fireboard Drive, 3 DigiQs, lots of Thermapens, and too much other stuff to mention.
LOL calling the BGEs the "Cadillacs of the BBQ world": they’re not even the Cadillac of kamados! More like the Toyota Camry. Otherwise a fun puff piece, I enjoyed reading it.Last edited by Mosca; May 15, 2019, 07:13 AM.

What kills me is grilling and smoking have been part of my cooking life for many, many years. Now all of a sudden everyone with a smoker is a bloody pitmaster and expert. I got guys running around the office talking about their brisket this and their pork butt that. I don't even mention AR or try to correct them, Millennial snobs.
