    Gar ball stew

    This is a Facekook video by a Cajun musician whose feed I follow.
    My Dad threw catfish back because he didn't want to mess with them much less keep an Alligator Gar and cook it.
    Swamp folk fish to eat, and this is something you won't see on a typical new cajun menu.

      I like to listen to him. Many things he says sounds just like my Grandmother and Great Grandfather.

      Both of my brothers live on a river, and they catch gar now and then. I don't know how they cook it.
      I don't think I have ever eaten gar. Never snagged one when out fishing.
