As a 58 year old American I’ve lived through a number of these decade flip flops. Now w social media things change weekly. Everybody’s an expert. And if all else fails, take these pills.
Thats it! I’m going old school. I’m just gonna cook my remedies from here on out. I just ordered this book. I should be svelte and fit as a fiddle by next week. 😉

Growing up in the 70's and 80's (almost the same age as JCBBQ) I remember all the warnings on food, weather, you-name-it. Seemed like there was always a "new study" and time was running out.
I will say, even with the information overload the Internet gives us, there's more, what I would call, useful advice out there.
And it turns out, to complicate matters, people aren't all the same. Loved the retro kitchen as well. Not sure that was 70's. I'd call that 60's.
LSG Adjustable Grill/Smoker, MAK Pellet Grill, Large BGE with Several Attachments from the Ceramic Grill Store, Weber Genesis E335 Gasser, Cast Iron Pans & Griddle, Grill Grates, Mostly Thermoworks Thermometers, Anova SV Stick, BBQ Guru Controller and Fan
Its funny because its true. I remember these food "warnings" and how they changed periodically. I minored in Human Nutrition and asked about these changes and the answer was that a better understanding of biochemical processes, genetics, and ongoing research changes what we know.
The main lesson I learned was that you're going to die of something so eat what you enjoy unless you are allergic or have a condition such as diabetes that requires dietary management.

All I can say in being my age is, growing up I drank water from the outdoor garden hose, ate raw chocolate chip cookie dough, swallowed some dirt and bugs, ate raw hamburger with a pinch of salt, chewed on metal army toys with lead paint etc, that outside of some hair lost, weight gain, poor eyesight and some hearing loss, those eating habits and foods of the '50s to the '70s had little effect on my health.
All I can say, Captain, is that you look exactly as I remember you from my youth - haven’t aged a day - so I’m heading onto Amazon to get some Army men to chew on!
