Nice. But are you a member of the super exclusive Bean Club? I was allowed in this summer. It may have been Will Rogers who said that he never really wanted to join a club which would let him be a member.

Calling SheilaAnn. There must have been a significant relaxation of standards by RG Bean Club, to admit bothItsAllGoneToTheDogs and me this year. You need to check into this.

It was interesting when I read an article on him the other day and realized he went to the same HS as my parents. He woulda been a grade or two behind my Mom but she doesn't remember him, then again she only went to school to ditch it with my Dad.
I'm sure he'll have a few signed books on hand, any author with a new book usually has a box or two everywhere they go

I read the first 80 or so pages, it's a great book. I really enjoy the forwards but that may be due to my semi-annual forays to some of the places mentioned, specifically some of the farmers markets I fondly remember going to with my Grandma.
Regardless, for the most part the introductions, history, methodology etc... are enjoyable ESPECIALLY multiple references to where to find beans or ingredients other than Rancho Gordo. Obviously the book has a few mentions of Rancho Gordo products, but suggestions on where to find certain things are appreciated as I always judge companies on how they deal with their competition. And when you hype your competition I know you love your business niche and earn my respect.
My only critique is that I wish each recipe had a picture. Randomly there's a recipe for garlic confit in the appetizers section, it has a picture (as fantastically shot as all the other photos). If the point of this book is to further entice people to utilize beans, give me one of these great photo's with each recipe to entice me deeper into the cult(ure) of beandom.
I already have a few recipes I intend on giving a go, some I may never use but at least gave me ideas of how I'd like to use a certain bean. So I call that a great addition to my small cook book collection.

This book will probably make it on my Christmas list.
While noodling around vis a vis beans, went to the beans stickie that K started back in the day. She linked to a New Yorker article, 4/23/2018, "Bean Freaks". Outstanding read re Steve Sando and his cultivation of Rancho Gordo.
