Steven Raichlen's Planet BBQ Season 2 ?

Will there be a Season 2 ? I thought I read somewhere that Season 2 was in production, but I cant find that now. Season 1 began airing on Memorial Day last year, so I'm thinking there should be some news ?

I have wondered this myself. They historically film 6-9 months before the air date and Steven usually posts some production shots on his social media, but I haven't seen anything. Clearly, Planet Barbecue was meant to be a series.

I know PBS funding is challenging right now, so that might be a reason the delay. Or maybe his other projects precluded it this year. (He did BBQ University and he is re-releasing a revised version of his Beer Can Chicken book.)

On Raichlen's Instagram page, I've seen him refer to Season 2 of Planet Barbecue, but offer no details.

I must have missed that. I know Project Smoke and Fire were nearly always filmed in February, but more recent shows have been filmed in September. I wonder if they are getting ready to do a shoot this Fall for a May 2025 airing.

That certainly suggests there will be a Season 2!

I guess there won't be a Season 2 of Planet Barbecue. If there were, it would've aired by now.
