    OK guys. Yesterday, thrift store, picked up The Cuisines of Asia, subtitle Nine Great Oriental Cuisines by Technique, Jennifer Brennan, 1984. Old school book, no images, 542 pp including index. History chapter on China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, The Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam. Has recipes from the various countries featuring steaming, stir-frying, deep-frying, currying, simmering, and barbecuing.

    Brennan died 2011 I think. Look her up, including book title in your search. Fascinating very productive life. Her father was a senior official in British Colonial India. Other than English boarding school, she grew up and lived throughout the area much of her life.

    Worth every bit of $3.13.
