    hoovarmin, I have it and recommend it. Part art, part biography, part story format recipes. I enjoy anything by Jacques Pepin.

      I enjoy that type of cook book as well. They provide history and cultural lessons behind the recipes that bring them to life.

    Yeah, them things are humble, especially roosters in the morning and hens that seemingly think those are THEIR eggs.

      Apparently Jacques Pépin is indeed really into chickens. My sister is a professional chef and greatly admires him.....so much so she is raising her own chickens now.

        Jacque Pepin is a Master Chef. But there are two things he is upper tier noted fer, yes the chicken, hence the book yer lookin at. Do not hesitate any longer. The second is related, he is the egg master.

        In reviews I’ve read, those who haven’t liked it were expecting more of a cookbook, rather than a memoir with some recipes. Myself, I would enjoy either. Julia Child’s My Life in France is a great read, easily as wonderful as Mastering the Art of French Cooking.
