I made the switch from paper to paprika. Besides building a cookbook, what else do you do with paprika?

Duro Pellet Grill (camper)
Weber Q2800n+ (camper)

All the (pellet) grills I’ve loved before:

Traeger Pro 575
CampChef SmokePro STX (ugly grills need love too)
Weber SmokeFire EX4* - twice

I use it in lots of rubs. It also makes a nice visual garnish for deviled eggs. It is Traeger compatible and pairs well with PBR...actually I don't know if that last part is true, I've never had PBR.
Curious though, how do you build a cookbook with paprika? Does it solidify mixed with something else? What color ink do you use to write in it?Last edited by glitchy; April 6, 2022, 12:31 PM.

Huskee after high school, I found Spanish paprika much easier to at least get the jest of it. I still struggle at times as I never mastered fluency. Hungarian though, it’s just like reading Greek oregano or Chinese five spice to me.

I downloaded smoked hungarian paprika and half my family did a disk dump! They have sensitive operating systems anyway.Last edited by Bruceski44; April 6, 2022, 06:20 PM.

- Jealous Devil or Fogo lump charcoal
- Smoking wood from The Woodshed
- Joule sous vide circulator
- Thermoworks Smoke, Thermapen & ChefAlarm
I find the menu feature to be very handy, especially for the holidays or other big cooks when a lot of separate recipes are involved. Makes it easy to refer back to previous years’ successes (and near-successes).
I have also gotten in the habit for many years to always rate a recipe after I have cooked it based on family feedback. That way if I am looking for a specific recipe I can easily tell which is the best (per the family) or which we haven’t yet tried.

I modified Myron Mixon's Basic Hickory Sauce recipe from his book "Smokin' with Myron Mixon." Before I started using Paprika, it looked like the image below, replete with food stains and corrections. Compare that to the same recipe in Paprika shown below.
It's also helpful to create a shopping list, share recipes and I just discovered it even includes a timer.

Large Big Green Egg, Weber Performer Deluxe, Weber Smokey Joe Silver, Fireboard Drive, 3 DigiQs, lots of Thermapens, and too much other stuff to mention.
Regarding the "building a cookbook", I use Paprika to save recipes that would otherwise just blow right through my head never to be remembered. Then, 6 months later when I’m thinking about what to make, I look through Paprika at what I liked enough to save.

SnS 22" kettle, 22" WSM with Pit Viper, 36" LSG pellet pooper
24" Blackstone griddle, 6 Gallon Cajun Fryer.
50K BTU wok burner.
The grocery list feature is probably what I use most. Add everything for the recipe to your list, then check off the things you already have before heading to the store. Saves me from the "oH sh!T$" during prep, and also cuts down on buying things I already have 3 of in the pantry.
