Costco Traeger Fremont????!!

Hello friends,

I was given a used tailgater that was old & beat up. I cleaned it up and used it enough to learn to appreciate it as a convenient alternative option to my KBQ.

It’s been acting up and flaming out. I don’t have interest or know how to troubleshoot it. I also don’t think this old beat up unit is worth the effort.

I was poking around looking for lightly used pellet cooker. I found a Traeger Fremont which is a Costco exclusive. The features include “Digital Arc Controller”, “Keep Warm Mode”, “Meat Probe”, “Porcelain Coated Grates”, and “Rugged Wheels”.

Does anyone here have any knowledge or experience with this unit?

They list for $549.99. The seller says it was only used three times and is asking for $350. I offered $300.
Does this sound like a good deal if he accepts it?

I’m also a stick burner guy myself, but having the option of the convenience of the pellet cooker is nice. I also like to use it as a warmer for outdoor BBQ events. It’s so convenient to toss a pan of beans on it while you attend to other items.

I agree, their usefulness is quite underrated and underestimated by those who haven't/don't use them.

I know nothing about it myself, but a little diggin' says it may be very similar to their Homestead 520. In any case, $200 off sounds like a great deal to me. Congrats!

I think it would be fine, especially since it isn't your primary pit. Should be fine. I have a Yoder for use when I don't feel like, or don't have time for the stickburner. It's a small step down in the quality of the end product, yes, but the convenience is unmatched.
