    Holy Moly the price

    I thought I paid a high price for a Timberline 850 at ~$1,800
They are now up to $3,299.99

I watched a smoker I contemplated go from $5,000 to $10,000 a couple years ago. Good bye my love!!!! (Rear-ends someone and deploys airbag)

It's that pellet grill flu that's been going around.

They're adding so many bells and whistles and extra features on things today to make them fancy.

Soon they're gonna advertise one that trims and seasons your brisket FOR you, so all you gotta do is take it outta the bag and plop it down on the grate. Traeger will do the rest!

Don’t forget, all you really need is fire.

Everything else is there for convenience. Choose the balance between convenience and cost that works best for you.

          Yup, keep it simple.

IMHO they’re building toward not needing us. They want a machine that does it all with the push of a button, no experience or expertise needed. Your neighbor can claim to make the best brisket and not understand a thing about smoking. We’re being engineered out of the picture. Someone will design a self fueling stick burner soon that you can set and forget, of course it will only use special sticks you can get at Lowe’s.

          A stick-feeding offset.
Food grade Presto Logs for fuel.

I've said it before, but the pricing on their units makes it a no brainer to seriously consider the US made brands of which some have options below that price point. Heck, even a MAK 2 star is only 200 more than that price AND has a lifetime warranty.

My thoughts exactly. Why buy a Treager when you can save a little more and buy A Yoder, MAK, or a LSG......

hahahah, even a YS640 Comp edition is $2850! Made in the USA. VS a Traeger $1000 more and is made in China. (At least their pellets are made here. :/ )

They just might engineer themselves right out of the market price wise as the pick em up trucks did. The market fer a $100,000 truck is not a ticket right now, as a $4,000+ smoker/grill may not be.

It is pretty ridiculous. And keep in mind that eventually something will malfunction. I love my Chimp, but the temp control is on the fritz. So I have been using the kettle and the Bronco as I haven't taken the time to fix the Chimp. The WSM is on reserve. Charcoal, wood and fire. No malfunctions.

I'm fine with my WSM's and Weber kettles. Perfectly fine.
