Rec Tec RT 680 Controller

I have had my 680 for a little over two years. Other than having to adjust the feed rate down (has anyone else had to do this?) so that it will go down to 180 degrees if need be, the controller has worked pretty well until recently. I had to call them a few weeks ago because of an issue, so they had me do a factory reset. However, after a few cooks, it acted up again. It struggled to get back up to temp on a warm day after I opened the lid for about 20 seconds. Then, after I shut it off to the "COOL" mode, it turned itself back on a few minutes later, and showed the temp I had set it for! Rec Tec just sent me a new controller, which I will install in a few days.

Anyone else had these issues, and if so, did the new controller fix them? Was the replacement controller easy to install?

I've had my Rec Tec 680 for about a year with no issues so far. Did they send you the new wireless controller with 2 temp probes? If so, I'd be curious what you think.

No, they just sent me a replacement for the original controller.

All, please allow me to clarify. The new controller that they sent to me is just the "guts" not the entire shelf.
