I’m considering buying a Recteq 410. I’ve had 2 GMG’s and basically got fed up with their service department. My question with the smaller Recteq grill is the lack of a smokestack on the end of the smoker, which is replaced by the slots on the back to release the smoke. Does this affect the quality of the finished product at all? Are there any problems with these slots as opposed to the smokestack. Thanks in advance for your help.

I took a hard look at Recteq when I was considering a pellet rig and IMO think they are a good option (incl the slots w/o a stack). WOuld go with them if the pellet rig was my main cooker.
The pellet Rig is not my primary (or 2nd string cooker) so I went with a cheaper cabinet -- price and capacity were the driving factors that time.

Favorite beer: Anything that's cold!
Favorite cocktail: Bourbon neat
I’m a Recteq owner with the RT-700. So no experience with the no smoke stack issue. But what little customer service I have needed has been stellar. Good luck.

IMO vents, if designed right provide a more even cooking surface and the smoke seems to hang out longer which is a plus for a pellet grill.
One thing to note though is that RT uses significantly cheaper materials on all the models smaller than the 700, with the exception being the new stainless models. IMO there's likely a better value to be found at the price point of the 410 with similar build quality. Especially with this weekend likely bringing sales I'd take a peak at a larger pitboss model or maybe even some camp chef stuff is box stores are closing out inventory near you. Might even be able to snag a weber smokefire at sub $600. Otherwise maybe the RT 590 will get a labor day bundle (they usually don't significantly drop in price but they do add a bunch of accessories and stuff and keep the price the same) that makes it worth it for you to pay a bit more than the 410?
