I read somewhere on this forum someone (Max?) heard Rec Tec is coming out with wifi in 2016. Does anyone know if that is the case and when?

Thanks. Looking to upgrade from Traeger and don't want to jump the gun too soon. I normally stay close to home when smoking. Would be nice to check on it when out so your not so tied down.Comment

I have gone a combination of high and low tech at the same time for this with my Rec Tec Mini. I have a Dropcam (I suppose Nest Cam now) that I point at the smoker and at my Maverick.
This let's me see the temp on the smoker as well as the probe temperatures remotely. Of course I can't make any changes, but it works well enough.
Don't know if I would go this route normally, but I already have the camera for other reasons and it just moves on occasion when I need to leave the house for a while.Comment

REC TEC is developing WiFi, but their is no release date yet. However, when it comes out, it will be compatible with their current controllers.Comment
