temp probe is failing, time for a new one - what are good replacements?

my one probe is going bad- not unexpected after 2+ years of cooking

I see some 'upgraded ones' on line, but has anyone tried these yet? I like the sturdiness of the design over the flimsy stock ones

I don’t know Recteq stuff, but those look like Fireboard probes with different connectors. The Fireboard probes are pretty durable if the are made by the same place.

Same. Don’t know much about Recteq but I’ve been super impressed with most products from ThermoWorks

Did you call Recteq to see if it might be under warranty and thus can be replaced for free? The RT-700 has a six year warranty. They recently replaced my controller under warranty.

My suggestion would to call Thermoworks and see what they would recommend.
