I have an opportunity to buy a PG 1000, anyone out there has experience with one? I can get it for under 1000. So its a good deal, but anyone have experience cooking on it?

I do not have personal experience, but I was a member on another pellet forum that had some very happy and dedicated Fast Eddy owners. Once you master the 4 zone cooking, and learn how to tweak the settings that control auger speed, feed rate, etc., you can go from cold smoking to blazing sear capability as desired. It was definitely on my short list before I got my MAK 2 Star.

I own the PG500 and absolutely love the thing. I dont notice a big difference between zone 3 and 4. 2 does get a bit warmer though. Zone 1 is a little limited space wise to grill on but is an excellent grill!!
I much prefer the PG500 to the Memphis Pro I sold when I bought it.
LHT and HHT are very easy to get the hang of and make a big difference especially in low temp cooks.
I'd say jump on it.

Very respected pellets grills, it's been on my short list a couple times. The reason I never pulled the trigger was the somewhat limited space in the zones. However, I don't tend to do as many bigger cooks now, so if I was in the market for a quality pellet grill the PG500 or PG1000 would definitely be contenders. If I had the chance to grab the PG1000 for that price I'd probably be begging for forgiveness right now

So I got a Hasty Bake for a couple of hundred a couple of years back. So this fast eddy appears on marketplace a couple of days before my bday. It teminds me of how the HB fiasco had to do with a reaaalllllyyyy rich family and the guy being forced to sell by his wife.
So my son ask me, on the way to pick up the Fast Eddys, dad why would anyone sell it so cheap? I reminded him of the Hasty Bake story. I then told him that this time around its probably history repeating itself, that a really wealthy guy is being forced to sell by his wife.
So as I pick up the grill and I pop the question, "Why so cheap". The guy proceeded to tell me that they were getting a new patio and he has to get rid of it. Reason being his wife cant figure it out and she wants a gasser.
(really nice guy by the way)
My son gets in the car and start cracking up. " Dad how could it be the exact same story" I respond "Son, its always the same story." Woo hooo, im done with MCS for awhile.

LOL, quite a few years back my bride got interested in writing a novel. Took some classes and read some books and learned that in the writing community there's a meme that there are only six basic story lines that underlie every novel ever written, only the characters, locations, and so on vary. Probably a country song joke in that too...........
