Stampede 590!

So the Stampede showed up last night at about 10. Dang late in the back of a yellow rider truck. Drug it in the garage and put it together this morning at 6 AM after getting the Moonbeam off to work. This is hard work.

Rolled it through the house and put it in its new spot next to the power plug on the back patio, thew in a bag of B&B Hickory and made a pot of coffee.

So after another hour I decided to put some cloths on, sat down at the computer and catch up on the ole AR.

Figured I should fire it up and do a burn in, grabbed the iPhone, turned the thing on, set it to 400 and let it go for an hour.

Too easy!!

After the initial burn in and cooling off, I set it to 250. Grabbed the ole FireBoard to verify. Rock solid. I am impressed.

This thing is solid, responsive, built very well, and just too easy. The app interface is stupid fun.

Did up some Memphis Ribs for my first cook. Tomorrow it will be Troutman infamous H.J. Leggie WishBone Chicken!

Can't wait!

Fantastic looking ribs! Congrats on the new pooper. I have a Rec Tec Trailblazer and like you, find it to be so easy to use. Most of the work is in food prep, not in using the cooker. And yes, the app is great - this last weekend was cold and rainy and I was able to stay inside, enjoy the fire, and watch football while cooking Pastrami.
I added an outlet on my patio for mine, and used an outlet with built in surge protection and GFI - just makes me feel better to protect the controller (and me of course).

Now that's a nice pair of racks and a awesome looking cooker! Curious though why you need the tube smoker doesn't it already burn pellets?

I hear that the smoke setting on the Stampede works very well. You may want to run on "smoke" for an hour or so, then turn it to the temp you want.
