Yoder YS640 standard heat diffuser question

I couple months ago I finally pulled the trigger and ordered the YS640. Very happy with it so far.
I ordered it with the optional 2 piece heat diffuser plate and it was shipped to me with the standard one as well.
My question is this: Is there any reason I should keep the standard one? Right now it is just a heavy chunk of steel taking up space in the garage and I just can't see why I would ever need it. I would think if anyone else needed one they would get the 2 piece as well. I'm thinking I should just throw it on my buddy's scrap pile and get it out of the way but it seems like a waste lol.
Am I missing something here? Any ideas?

Where are you located? I can pick it up! I use my Yoder for smoking, so I don't really see the need for the 2 piece diffuser. I have the old version of the one piece that is not reinforced, and it is warped. Will be happy to take it off your hands.....

Fixed that!
I'm in north GA. Probably not worth the drive! I love Texas. Had some great times and great bbq out there. Unfortunately work doesn't take me out that way anymore.

I have kept mine "just in case" there is a problem. It’s flat so it’s up on the wall behind a shelving unit so it’s out of the way, but, available if I should ever need it.
