    pellet smokers

want a pellet smoker and comparing Smokin Bros premier 36 to Yoder 640. Local shop carry both but is pushing SB more than Yoder (saying almost as good a quality and burns less fuel) but not sure if thats really margin driven or the truth. Anyone ever compared them? Not much info out their on SB

Don't have any knowledge of the Smoking Bros stove, but can readily recommend the Yoder 640. Had mine for about 18 months now and still love cooking on it.

I have compared both. Is the direct flame option on the Yoder important to you? If that’s not important, than if in your shoes, I’d personally choose the SB Premiere 36. Not as sexy as the Yoder, but there is quite a bit (better quality finish, extremely even heat, insulated firebox, Savanah controller, etc.) that I much prefer over the Yoder. I have never done side by side comparisons, but I’d be shocked if the SB burned pellets at the same rate as the Yoder.

From what I have gathered, both companies stand firmly behind their products!

The SB Premier 30 is a gold medal winner like the Yoder 640

My better half would love it if I brought home one of their Barn-B-Ques but that isn't in the budget anytime soon.

I agree! The little red barn is a definite quirky cooker!

TY all for replies. The premier 30 is actually the one I am looking at and now leaning towards. The local bbq store swears that it will burn less pellets/hour than the Yoder...they say about half as much. They claim the Yoder burns about 2#/hr vs 1# in SB. That adds up! Thanks again.

          More pellets burned= more smoke.

Love my yoder and love the searing capability. May burn a lot of pellets, but the flavor is incredible.

I burn between 1-2 lbs per depending on temperature I have it set at and ambient temp. Love my Yoder.
