I'm sure these are both great grills.
The RecTec has WiFi although I don't think that's a must have for me. I live in a mild climate area and it seems to me you have to be around at the end of the cook anyhow. For the few cases where you want to step the temperature I have no issue with setting an alarm clock. From what I have read the flame going out (and wifi reporting this) is very rare also. I believe the parts are all or mostly stainless so longevity should be excellent.
I'm leaning towards the Firecraft because of the sear station. I have a gas grill but it's pretty much end of life and I'm getting tired of supplying the propane and in any case my gas grill can barely sear anyhow. As I become more of a connoisseur, on paper at least, it seems that combustion of wood products always produces a better product.
I'm aware of the Firecraft warning with regards to product disruption, seems it just became available again.
