How to clean your built-in temp probe?

What's the best way to clean a built-in probe? Specifically I want to clean mine in my Camp Chef PG24DLX. Thanks!!

I use Scotch Brite pads with a little detergent. Then wipe with a damp paper towel.

Not specific to Camp Chef, but the folks at Grilla Grills recommend a little soapy water on a rag.

i wondered if something like goo gone would clean it lickety split. Make it nice n shiney even. And perhaps add a nice citruis flavor to future smokes?

Sounds like soapy water is the way to go...

Little Scotch Brite or brillo pad, a little mild detergent. I don't usually bother with mine, though. Maybe once every year or two. lol

Easy Off Heavy Duty oven cleaner. Just spray a litle on a paper towel and wipe. Or spray the probe and wipe off the cleaner. Works great!

A lesson for all Memphis Pro owners.
If you clean with anything but a GREEN scotch Brite pad it will void the warranty and you get to purchase a new one.

              Why did I clean it?
Because I was 35* off on temp.
I used 0000 steel wool and voided the warranty.

Mine is off 35* too and Camp Chef is sending me a new one, buy they aren't charging me for it.

I'm seeing that sort of discrepancy as well. Perhaps I should call Camp Chef too...

Ive rarely been disappointed in BBQ gear Ive purchased. But the Memphis Pro keeps tempting me to be disappointed.

I wouldn't use steel wool or Brillo because iron particles can impregnate stainless and start corrosion. Scotchbrite is the way to go.

I bought a gallon of Extreme Simple Green Aircraft Precision cleaner to detail the engine in my Corvette. When the first time came to give my GrillGrates a cleaning I found it really worked well.

I use the concentrated heavy duty Simple Green and Scotchbrite, about the same.

Ok, I didn't need to go toxic with Goo Gone after all. As the wisdom of The Pit recommends, soap and water and a scotchbrite type sponge/scrubber cleaned it pretty darn good with little effort! I mean, its silver again. I used Dawn dishwashing liquid. After all, Dawn cleans crude oil off ducks.

              Thanks all!
