Treager choice

I copied this over from another section figuring it was a better catogory


I have been smoking now a couple years with the WSM 22". Thanks to the help and recipes here it has been awesome . Now I am looking to get a pellet smoker. I have narrowed my choice to the Traeger Lil Tex Elite 22 or the Treager Tailgate Elite 20.

Does anyone have the Tailgate Elite 20? I am wondering what the grill to top of the lid height is? Would a small Turkey or a large chicken fit under the lid?

Same question for the Lil Tex Elite 22.

I do have room in the WSM 22" so either way not really a deal breaker, I am just curious to the room inside with lid closed.

Any other suggestions in the same price range welcomed.

I have a Tailgater. I love it.
You can fit chickens in there no problem. Can't stand them up, but that isn't a huge issue.

I haven't tried a Turkey but I don't think it would a huge issue.

As you can see in the attached image the lid height is 7 inches above the grate.
