There is some grease and cooking buildup on the outside of the GMG that I want to get rid of, I would also like to get my internal trays back to a shine before I re-foil them. What are you guys using to clean up the heavy grease, etc.??

Heavy-Duty Oven cleaner works the best. And get the HD stuff. It has caustic and that is the best for eating up grease. Spray it on, let it sit for a few hours and then wipe it rinse and wipe clean. It should clean everything up like totally new. Wear gloves though, the caustic will bite if you have any nicks or cuts on your hands.

That would work for the trays. I'm not about to put that on my paint though. lol

If it is enamel coated you are fine. Keltonfoss If not use a d- limonene based cleaner.

I have used Awesome on my Davy Crockett. We get it at the local Dollar Store and it's neither caustic nor expensive. I soak the grates and drip trays in a 50/50 mix of Awesome and hot water for an hour or longer. They come almost looking like new with very little scrubbing. I use the awesome full strength on a rag and it cleans the outside pretty well. I doubt anything will make it look like new again but this does the job for me.

Hi, my name is Darrell. I'm an OTR truck driver for over 25 years. During my off time I love doing backyard cooks. I have a 48" Lang Deluxe smoker, Rec-Tec pellet smoker,1 Weber Genesis 330, 1 Weber Performer (blue), 2 Weber kettles (1 black and 1 Copper), 1 26" Weber kettle, a WSM, 8 Maverick Redi Chek thermometers, a PartyQ, 2 SnS, Grill Grates, Cast Iron grates, 1 ThermoPop (orange) and 2 ThermoPens (pink and orange) and planning on adding more cooking accessories. Now I have an Anova sous vide, the Dragon blower and 2 Chef alarms from Thermoworks.
