    Mesquite Pellets

    I was given a bag of Mesquite pellets as a gift, however I understand that they have a rather strong flavor.
    Any recommendations on what to smoke with them?

    Beef Ribs. Butts. Brisket.

      Beef. All cuts.
      Like it with pork chops as well.
      Experiment. I don't find the flavor all that strong but you may.

        For sure what Jon Solberg and Aimless1 just said. I have used Mesquite Pellets a lot with BEEF! They are my go to pellet with beef.

              Do you guys get any Mesquite in Kentucky? I am guessing not.

              I wish I could get a pick up load of the Hickory you folks have down there.

                Spinaker I live in Southern IN near KY, so I found you this add on CL. for ya., I give a rip.

                My experience with pellets, including Mesquite, is that it is a much milder flavor than what you get with wood logs or chunks (as with all flavors of wood). I have used mesquite pellets on everything but fish with success. Don't be afraid to try it.

                Spinaker Rural king farm supply store sell's them, in chunks, they will ship. If you do not have a store in Minnnasoooda

                There is not any Mesquite in the mid west. It's much farther south

                  Don’t think your pellet pooper going to put out enough smoke to leave a lot of impact on your cook anyway, regardless of the pellet used...
