I've had the YS480 now going on 3 years in April. Not one issue with it. No thermo couple issue, no igniter issue, nothing. I just vacuum out with a little shop vac after EVERY cook, including fire pot and it has been great. I keep mine in the garage and never empty to pellets out. Built like a tank. If you follow the instructions no issues at all. I get plenty of smoke flavor from pecan pellets. Really no need for tube smoker or anything else unless you like a lot of smoke. I got mine from a friend and was 4 months old. If I were to buy a new one, it would have been the YS640. I think the extra space would be nice but no issues with cooking for up to 20 on it.
