    lousiana Champion Reviews?

Saw this one at Costco and was trying to see if anyone had done any reviews or any research on it? I am starting my search for my next smoker and am now looking into different styles and fuel sources and pellet rather interests me.

Would like to hear what you guys think. I am really interested also in the Rec Tec 680.

No hands on experience but I looked up some reviews in the web and a few people mentioned that the customer service was very bad, not getting back to them via phone or even email. I checked one out at Costco and it is huge. My wife gave me that look of "you're not seriously thinking of this, are you?"
RecTec's customer service seems to be outstanding.

I wish they had less food in those pictures! I like to see the working innards.

I was thinking the same thing, like to see the business end of that monster. Also not a big fan of 14 gauge construction. It does look kind of cool otherwise.

I have the RecTec 680 with the Cold Smoke Chamber and I have nothing but good to say about it but I have to say that LG has some elbow room. The LG controller also has a wider range at 60-600* than the RT (180-500). I can keep my cold smoke box in the 60-70* range but it is not a controlled temp and I mainly use it for smoking fish, shrimp, cheese, etc. I notice the LG has a smaller (27#) vs (40#) hopper. and yes, RecTec customer service can never be beat. Good Luck with whatever you decide big boy..

More I read about the REC TEC I become more certain that I will end up with one. Anyone use the cold-smoke box? I am interested in making some bacon!

Got one myself from Costco in the UK. First proper smoker so can't be unbiased but it is supper fun toy and the results are yum!

Still can't tell exactly how many grill grates does it actually have though!

Personally, I never had a chance to use the cold smoking chamber yet.
