Has any one tried the Pit Boss Wood Pellets that Walmart caries, Or the B&B Wood Pellets? Are they any good?
They are locally available where I am for the Winter so I don't have to go far for pellets.
Thanks Dave
By the way this is my Winter Estate it was 93°F here yesterday, have about 4 more days in the 90s then it starts to drop to a more livable temp. like mid 60s & low 70s in Jan.
Where's your pellet smoker, hiding in the weeds? (Just a little humor). I have recently used the B&B which is available all over the Houston area. They are ok but I like the Lumber Jack a little better. I get Lumber Jack over Amazon with free delivery. Bit more than B&B but I think it's worth it. I bet UPS could get a satellite fix on you and drop you a load !!!

I think a lot of pellets depend on how the retailer handles them. I’ve used Pit Boss from a different retailer and they had a lot of dust. But, if they are still on the pallet at Walmart, they probably haven’t been "handled" that much.
I have used both, and both work well. Best brisket I ever cooked was with Mesquite B&B pellets. If you are in Texas, HEB has the B&B pellets for less than Walmart.
Hi, my name is Darrell. I'm an OTR truck driver for over 25 years. During my off time I love doing backyard cooks. I have a 48" Lang Deluxe smoker, Rec-Tec pellet smoker,1 Weber Genesis 330, 1 Weber Performer (blue), 2 Weber kettles (1 black and 1 Copper), 1 26" Weber kettle, a WSM, 8 Maverick Redi Chek thermometers, a PartyQ, 2 SnS, Grill Grates, Cast Iron grates, 1 ThermoPop (orange) and 2 ThermoPens (pink and orange) and planning on adding more cooking accessories. Now I have an Anova sous vide, the Dragon blower and 2 Chef alarms from Thermoworks.
I believe Pit Boss is a Louisiana brand pellet and I agree with kmhfive in that I have had several bags from Menards that had a lot of sawdust in them but burned well without any problems. As Jon Solberg I would use B&B if I had a choice.
