Just wanted to give a shoutout to the Camp Chef support team. The numbers on my CChef 24se were rubbing off on my controller after only about 6or 7 cooks. One phone call and a new controller should be on its way soon. They told me a few other people had the same problem. Probably bad paint. I thought they would tell me to get some paint. A new controller though. Great customer service.

If it's like my Traeger it should be a snap. Hopefully the plugs are color-coded or distinctive enough to easily understand. If there's enough slack in the wires I suggest unscrewing the old controller from the unit and then switch over each plug one by one to the corresponding plug on the new controller. Take a couple of "before" pics as well.

I haven’t done Camp Chef, but I’ve replaced controllers on two other pellet grills. It’s unplug one, then plug the other in. But, like others have said, make sure it’s either color coded or marked so you don’t cross the auger and fan wires!

The wires on the new controller are marked A B C and one with no markings. I can see that one gets plugged into main power. If old controller is similarly marked I shouldn’t have problem. Hopefully weather clears soon. But I can wait. Thanks everyone for your input.

Ok. Sun came out and replaced the controller. Took about twenty min. No slack in connectors when I took old controller off so had to drop bottom plate to gain access. Interior connectors were all marked so simple plug and play. I am attempting to show photos. Top left got smoke. Sorry about photos on my back.
