Memphis Pro ITC 3 Cart Model - ER-5 Error

Does anyone have any experience with the ER-5 RTD open error on their ITC 3? It says there could be a problem with a probe port or an open RTD. I checked all connections and cannot find anything noticeable. This grill has been a disaster to this point. I am on my third display unit from Memphis as the first two had damaged wires. If I could reverse time, I would not have purchased it. I have had it a month and have not been able to even cook on it.

    Thanks

If you have a meter, you can measure the resistance on the RTD.
If reads open, it's bad, and if less than100ohms it's bad.
At least that is what the info I have says about an ER-4.

I feel your pain about the grill.
I had a Pro and an Elite Built-in, both USA made, and had zero problems.
Moved and bought another Elite Built-in and was shocked when it said MADE IN CHINA on the box.
It was DOA. Took a couple weeks to finally get it working.
Replaced the RTD and after that the control board.
When replacing the control board a large capacitor clamped to the case was wired backwards.

The China made ones are junk IMO, and customer server is not what it used to be since Greg Fassett retired.

I moved again and Memphis was not on the list for grills to consider.
I have an LSG 20/42 pellet grill on order.

Thanks for the info. I'll test the RTD with my meter. I may push to have this thing returned.....not sure I will be successful but it is close to a lemon at this point. It's a shame as its a great looking unit.
