I just did a 7.5 butt on the Silverbac. Put it on at 7 and took it off at 3. It’s resting in my Yeti cooler. Set it at 250 and worked like a charm. Took it off at 3. I normally would smoke it at 200-225 but the family is going to see the play Frozen in downtown Chicago tonight so it needs to be on the table by 5. I have to say I love my pellet grill. I had run up to my friends house Evanston and was able to monitor the cook from my phone. Wife was home and on standby in case I needed her to pull it from the smoker but I made it back in time. No issues at all and didn’t notice any difference in pellet consumption.

I have a RecTec 700 and operate in NYC (frequently cooking in the 20 to 30 degree range in winter). In my experience, the cook time is not terribly different so long as I am mindful at how frequently I open the lid to check my cook. Although not significant, I do seem to use more pellets for a winter cook than a similar summer cook (as I would expect).
