Max Good we could use some help trying to find the supplier for the Thermocouple and the Ignitor if you have the time. We will have options with what's on the aftermarket but trying our best to find OEM sources to increase odds that wiring adverse folks have a plug and play or at least near plug and play option for those items.

And some maybe good news... Bob Tucker has a bunch of parts with a long term intent try to get them out to folks if someone doesn't buy (the brand? the parts?... that part wasn't clear).

You have chosen to put a lot on your plate. Thank you.
At some point, is a list of serial numbers feasible, showing what versions of parts were applicable to serial number ranges?

I'm not sure SNs is viable as MAK reused numbers and the early ones didn't have them at all... but year ranges is a possibility. I have to get through the chaos of getting the FB group running smooth and the whiplash of rumors about OEM parts waiting for distraction of auction discussions and finding 3rd party stuff that works... then I'll organize things better.

          Ignitor test

Wired up and tested a cheap ignitor option. (The knock of RT one listed on first post) Even if it hadn't taken me over an inch of wire before I figured out how to attach the connectors I think the wires might be a bit short. It will fit in the flashfire mount, and I held it along side the grill and it will fit assembled for sure, just not positive there's enough cable to remove the pelletboss much.

If you're in a pinch, this will work and it's cheap. Biggest issue I had was getting the pins crimped on, the fireproof casing kept bunching up or causing issues, note I'm a retired equipment operator... I'm used to hitting cables, not fixing them so there may be a trick I don't know.

Located the Pellet Boss manufacturer and awaiting a response for what level of support (if any) they can provide, and I have a company quoting a plug and play thermocouple. So the only major thing left is finding the OEM flash fire ignitor and M4 Probes that work for the OG controllers. Everything else will be the community finding ways to fabricate parts like the flashfire holder so people can upgrade or seeing if we can secure the code or pay for the app to continue working.

Wow, you are really rocking this - thanks for all that you’re doing to help all of us hopefully keep (or get) our MAK’s working after we were left out in the cold.

Do you know if the Pellet Boss manufacturer did anything on the software side or did they just make the module and MAK created the firmware?

HogPilot I only just got his contact info this morning, so I wouldn't expect any further info until after Tuesday. Bob Tucker has been interacting with some people on another FB page and it sounds like they are actively seeking a buyer for the brands and that MAK grills bought everything grill related from the MAK metals auction that they felt they needed so those will hit the market at some point.

Well, being that my MAK is essentially useless, I'm not in a rush and any improvement will be welcome! It seems that you've given us all a solid start so far.

I got confirmation today that the pelletboss manufacturer has authorization to conduct repairs, however he is not certain if he can handle that en masse as his company is setup to serve other companies with their own customer service apparatus'.

However I'm putting together a headcount of people that flat out don't have a pellet boss or the only one they have is malfunctioning. IF you aren't in the MAK Pellet Grills Survivors facebook group, please comment to this post and I will add the numbers of the 2 sites together to provide the company so he can make an informed decision.

I don't do much on Facebook but I do have a 2020 Model MAK 2 Star General Pellet Grill. I have just the basic Pellet Boss Controller w/o any WiFi . Sad to see them close as my MAK works Great. Thanks to all who are putting a Parts List/Availability list together.

Other than repair parts discussed in this thread, does anyone know if MAK accessories (grates, shelves, etc.) are available anywhere for purchase?

They are not, but custom grates are easy to get from various vendors.

They may be among the items that MAK Grills took from MAK Metals before the auction. Allegedly they are seeking a buyer of the brand? It wasn't clear amd there's been no further information at this time.

The part number and vendor is listed in the first post for the OEM ignitor from TempCo

Well, we hit a brick wall on being able to get the app or whatever working as MAK is in active negotiations with a buyer. We were talking about crowdfunding to secure rights to the app portion of the IP, and might still pursue that depending on how things pan out with MAK. (I know if I bought the MAK brand I would ditch the custom pelletboss and let Fireboard take over that part of the grill... apps are hard, and expensive)

I will however have a custom thermocouple that I commissioned in hand for testing in the next week or so and it will be available for purchase shortly after I confirm it works.
