Haven't posted in a long time - life's been busy. My wife and I will be moving soon, and as part of the move I'm going to be looking at getting a new pellet smoker. I had a Blazn' Grill Works smoker that lasted till last December when it had a pretty catastrophic internal set of failures. I didn't want to experiment w/trying to buy parts to fix it, so just got a Recteq Dualfire 1200. Have been using that a ton, but I honestly don't think it is robust enough to handle being moved from the backyard of our current place, on a trailer, and then to the backyard of the new place. I've wanted an LSG for a long time, so this may be the opportunity...
That being said, at ~450lb, I'm clueless as to how I'll be able to get that sucker through the yard/side of house (which is xeriscaped river stones)/through the back yard and up onto the patio. Fairly certain that the 5" or 8" casters just won't handle that trip, but also don't want the ~$900 cost of the off-road package (plus the added height/width those wheels add - I doubt it could fit through the gate to the back yard) either. For those of you who have these beasts, any insights would be greatly appreciated! For those with the 8" casters, does that make the grilling height uncomfortable/awkward? Thanks!
