I’ve had my 24x36 for a little over 8 years now and it’s a beast. Absolutely love it.
I’m in NY so pretty close to you. It’ll run no problem in sub freezing temperatures with ease.

I don’t think Chris, Lonestar Grillz, uses any outside sales. So right from the manufacturer in Tx.
You can expect in the neighborhood of $600 for shipping on top of the pits price.

yup he quoted me $625 shipping. Yikes thats an additional 20%. Fyi the pitts and spitts is free shipping. do you think it's worth that much additional? thx

I have a 640s that I bought back in December. I absolutely love it.
I added the pizza oven after a few weeks and its also really cool and super fun.
One thing I have to say is that the customer service for Yoder is fantastic as well. I had a section of my screen start to act weird on the controller (still works, just has a few dead pixels in it). I shot them an email yesterday, and they overnighted me a new controller, that will be here tomorrow.

I have a LSG 20X36 pellet and the LSG 20X36 offset for about 3 years now. I don't have any personal experience with the other two but have heard good things. My LSG pellet is right at 400# and my offset is around 500#. Because of our lifestyle and me still working the pellet get used much more often. My wife and I both use it for many things (meatloaf, salmon, pizza, queso to name a few) and it does a fantastic job for sure. With the sear feature (which we use often) it is a complete cooker for us.
I had a RecTec 680 for 8 years prior to the LSG and it worked fine but this LSG is SO much better. No smoke tubes needed with the LSG, I was getting plenty of smoke out of the stack running it at 350 finishing some chicken, unheard of on the RecTec. When I do briskets I put them on around 10pm at 200 and let it roll all night. This is my preferred method as I can get them done around 2pm and let them rest for a few hours before carving.
As someone stated, you will have to pay for shipping from TX but for me that is a small price to pay. Good luck with whatever you decide on.

I have a YS-640 older model and love it but you wouldn’t go wrong with any of the others too. There use to be a Yoder dealer in Dover DE who didn’t charge any shipping and DE doesn’t have any sales tax so it was an easy decision for me. Unfortunately he is no longer in business. As to cold weather I just throw a welding blanket over the chamber and that works well.

LSG large insulated cabinet
Yoder YS640
LSG 48" Santa Maria Gill
SNS travel kettle
FireBoard controller and PitBull fan
FireBoard 2 Drive
Thermapen Mk4
Thermapen One
Avid Armor USV32 Vacuum Sealer
KWS 10" slicer
I have a Yoder 460 pre S model (2018). Great cookers that has served me well. If I was to purchase it again I would go for the LSG because of more feature like the pellet dump. I also have a LSG cabinet smoker and Santa maria grill

MAK 2 Star pellet
Big Green Egg
Fuego gasser
Pitboss ceramic griddle
Eastman Outdoors wok burner
Ooni 16 pizza oven
Cast iron chimenea with pizza steel
Breeo smokeless fire pit, with Titan rotisserie and Titan Santa Maria style adjustable grate
Oklahoma Joe Bronco
With the introduction of these sophisticated pellet grills, how do they compare with older standards, like MAK 2 Star General? The MAK channel here has been quiet for a couple of years. I have a 2 Star, circa 2018. Upgrades in all respects but the Pellet Boss and temp thermocouple, which does what I need, and works fine.

The MAK gets updates every couple years and they are almost always backwards compatible. All MAK models now have a lifetime warranty as well. Honestly, IMO the only superior option some of the other US made grills have now is the ones that have fireboard controllers. The new MAK app isn't as robust as the web control was, and Fireboards app (I assume the controllers use a modified version of the fireboard app) is nearly perfect.
