When I ordered my LSG 20x36 pellet (3/21) and 20x36 offset (2/21) Chris wouldn't make them for pits so I went with the standard expanded metal. This issue I had with these grates is that they are not flattened expanded metal so there are many sharp edges on the top side. On my first two pork butts because of the weight of the butts the grates put a hole in the bottom of the wrap.
I immediately ordered a lower grate from Sean at Great Grates. Their grates are really heavy just a little pricey ($575ish), my lower is 46#.
I just received a top laser cut grate from LSG last, it was cheaper than the one I priced at Great Grates by $290 and will work fine.
If LSG had offered these laser cut grates when I ordered my pits I would have definitely ordered them.

I have the SS Laser Cut Grates on my LSG Adjustable Charcoal Grill/Smoker and like them. Would I get them again? Definitely! They are easy to scrape clean with a putty knife and wipe off with a rag or paper towels. The only drawback are no nice grill marks which don't matter to me.
