Well Murphy strikes again. Got the bird ready to go. Attempted to fire up the Silverbac and no joy. Checked everything that I know to check and nothing. I feel certain that I have a bad controller so in the oven the turkey goes for this years Thanksgiving.
These folks stand behind their products. Already emailed them and I feel certain that parts will be heading my way soon.
Sorry to hear it, hope it all comes out well. Now please don't be offended... but you did check that you have pellets in there, right? Don't ask me why I ask...
I of course love smoked meats of all kinds, but also like quick cooks like chicken portions, pork tenderloins, steak and fish. Really into cooking of all kinds.
My outdoor kitchen has a Lone Star Grillz Adjustable and it is wonderful. There also is a Pit Boss 5 Burner Ultimate Griddle and a Pit Boss Copperhead pellet grill.
There is an outdoor fire pit that has grilling capability and limited Santa Maria-style grill raising and lowering.

Same here! Fired up the Silverbac 25 minutes ago, set it for 325F, it's 36F outside. Went back out 15 minutes later with the prepared bird, and had a C 2 shutdown error on it! This is the original (non-WiFi) controller, so no alert .
Powered it off and on again, looks like it's doing OK now. Maybe some soggy pellets in the auger tube... ??? It's been rather wet here in the PNW lately.
I'm doing a spatchcocked 14lb bird for our friend's daughter who is hosting her first Thanksgiving meal. I really want this to be a success!
I fired up the Silverbac two days ago and ran at 400F for 30 minutes as a test and to give it a bit of a burn off of any lingering beef rib and pork flavors. Worked fine.
Must be Grilla problem season. The other day I had the Chimp set at 250 but it said it was running at 375. I checked with my xr50 and it was running that high. I haven't had a chance to troubleshoot it; I didn't get a chance to defrost a turkey so I did a chicken on the kettle. Who says you don't need multiple cookers?
From everything I have seen Grilla should get you fixed up soon. Doesn't give you a nice smoked turkey today though which is frustrating.
I decided to skip the smoker for the turkey this year and just do it in the oven. Not sure if I did something wrong but it was just flat out mediocre. Still juicy and cooked ok but the flavor just wasn't there. I did smoke a ham and a boneless, skinless turkey breast though and those came out delicious.
