Does anyone have a good suggestion for a cover for a built in Silverbac in the cabinet? Also looking for a cover for the built in primate?

If you're just trying to cover the Silverbac and the Primate, you could probably cut down original covers from Grilla. The problems you'd have would be (1) the short covers would likely want to blow away unless weighted down somehow ... and (2) The water deflected by the covers would simply dribble all over the rest of your nice setup.
Instead of covering just the individual cookers, why not look into a one-piece custom cover to protect the whole thing?Last edited by MBMorgan; October 6, 2024, 09:28 PM.

Mine is under my soffit and I only cover it when there’s going to be a bad snow storm. Even when it rains it doesn’t really get that wet but snow storms are just a different beast. I use the original Silverbac cover and it works fine.

If you can’t find anything, check out coversandall.com - you can have a custom cover made with very good material - Sunbrella - for a decent price. This is all I use for covers for my 4 of 5 cookers here at the house. Two are exposed to morning sun but I have to keep mine covered due to the dust out here.
You provide dimensions and photos and they mock up a design for approval then make the cover and send out.

This is going to sound very elementary but have you considered a couple of Harbor Freight tarps for now. With a little thought you could most likely see a way to tie them down and with the help of a few well placed ziplock bags of sand make a temporary cover until you complete your build. As soon as it’s complete I’d go with barelfly and Donw suggestions. These aren’t going to win you any awards for beautifying the block but they have some grey ones that won’t stand out.

I second this suggestion.
Put a hook at each end of the backsplash/wall area, spaced so that you can hook the grommets of a small tarp on them, then wrap around up and over the grills, and down over the front of the cabinet. Maybe a 5x7 or other skinny tarp, so that it stops short of the bottom of the cabinet, and you can use a couple of short bungee straps, hooking into the tarp grommets and under the bottom edge of the cabinet.

- If not cooking outdoors, I am cooking on the stovetop with my 14" carbon steel wok, 12" CI skillet, or in the oven with my two Lodge CI pizza pans, or two dutch ovens. I've also got a nifty Lodge carbon steel grill pan that rocks for veggies outdoors.
I will expand on my suggestion above, now that I realize this outdoor kitchen is on casters. Get an appropriately sized tarp big enough to cover it, in brown, green, black, blue, whatever. Drop it down the back to the bottom, go over the top and down the front, and use a bungee strap at each end to secure the corners together.
A black tarp would look about like a cover, and you are only going to have it on when inclement weather is coming. The advantage is that it would fit over anything you put on that countertop, and cover the entire thing.
I've been puzzling about custom covers myself if I build an outdoor kitchen, which I want to put my kamado and flattop in, and also thinking how any cover will just cause water to pool up on dropped down counter areas where the cookers sit, leading to potential pooling and water intrusion into the dry storage underneath. A custom cover for the entire thing, once complete, or a tarp with a few well placed hooks, is the way to go, now that I think about it.
I wonder if it's possible to get a custom sized tarp? That would be even more ideal... And yes. Google shows that there are folks out there that make custom sized tarps, in the material and color you want.
