    OG Has Arrived

My first cooker to arrive! With so much going on it may be a couple of weeks before it’s fired up.

I moved around 700 miles with only what would fit in our cars, so all my cookers were given away or sold cheap.

Wow, I've done that move with a Ford Escort. Regrouped with furniture, etc., down the road.

Congrats on a smoker I almost purchased multiple times.

I wanted to try one I’ve never owned before and this was a chance to do just that.

Done that myself. '77 Honda Civic packed to the brim and stuff left behind. Good memories.

I think you'll really enjoy it. I got my Chimp primarily for doing brisket, but have been really impressed with it for so many other cooks. Smoked burgers and jerky are divine on the thing.

I don't know how much experience you have with pellet grills, but don't stress over the type of pellet. The differences in smoke are very subtle (they are mostly oak anyway). My philosophy is to find a brand that is a blend at a great price and stick with that.

A big fan of Grilla and the OG. What grills did you have in the past?

To clarify, I listed grills in the past several years. Just before the move I only had the Silverbac, Blackstone, SnS Kettle and SnS kamado.

Congrats, I’m loving my Silverbac, but I’ve only had it for 6 months. I assume you liked yours since you bought another Grilla, right?

            Where’d you move from?

I did love my Silverbac. I moved from Tennessee.

Well, I have to think you will like the Grilla more than the Silverbac due to the better smoke flavor. I will be curious what you think of the Pit Boss compared to the Blackstone griddle. What is your plan to replace the kamados or are you using the Weber as the replacement for now?

Congrats! That’s the pellet cooker I would go with for sure, after a lot of window shopping and research myself over the years. Can’t wait to hear your comparison to a kettle or kamado in regards to smoking results.
