Well after much deliberation and research I decided to get the Grilla SilverBac AT. I’m getting back into the pellet world. I’m excited to get it here, assembled and run it through its paces.
One thing that helped seal the deal is I found a SS griddle that will fit many of the pellet poopers on the market. I love the design, it handles the grease and being SS I worry less about rust than my old Blackstone. Given I don’t cook that often on a griddle this is perfect and don’t feel bad about burning pellets to griddle.
Yeah, They're awesome, build well, fuel efficient, great in cold weather, and everything comes out a nice mahogany brown.
Thanks for the flat top info. Tell me how it fits and works in the Silverbac. I put the link in my favorites for later.
Scotch: Current favorite- The Arran (anything by them), Glenmorangie 12yr Lasanta, sherry cask finished. The Balvenie Double Wood, also like Oban 18yr, and The Glenlivet Nadurra (Oloroso sherry cask finished) among others. Neat please.

Congrats. Will definitely be looking for your feedback on that griddle.
It is nice to see mid range pellet grills that focus on quality (RecTeq and Grilla) gain popularity versus the others that strive to find the cheapest way to make a pellet grills just durable enough to last a few years. My CampChefs and Traegers were just fine, but all the metal in them was just thick enough not to collapse being rolled around the patio.
jfmorris If you want to have one sent my way, I’d happily take it for a spin and share my thoughts 😁 Both Grilla and RecTec were on the list of considerations for the last purchase, but I decided I wanted American made. I do love to see this market continue to grow, it only makes it better for all pellet lovers with more pellet choices and accessories like griddles, etc.
The feel I got and the research I did on Grilla reminded me a lot of my old Traeger when they were still owned by the family. I do appreciate that this is a small(er) company out there competing and building quality units, albeit made overseas. They are still designing it and customer support is VERY responsive with my questions.

Have to agree au4stree ,they tried the distributor route and it did not work manufacturing themselves. They do outsource production to China, however, they do all the product design and protoype's and they do a detailed inspection before shipping. What convinced me is that they are a machine shop and metal fabrication company first.

Happy Silverbac original owner here. I have the WiFi controller to install, but haven't gotten around to it.
Did my first freezing weather cook on it during our big freeze in late December. Nice to just plug it in and go! Did a double smoked spiral cut ham using the https://amazingribs.com/tested-recip...apricot-sauce/ Glaze/sauce. SWMBO declared it the best ham ever !
When I ordered mine in March it was a pre-order that was supposed to ship in like three weeks. I ordered on a Wednesday and got a phone call the next day from the freight company telling me that my delivery was there and they needed to drop it off at my house. I had them drop it off the night before I left for Florida for a week on vacation. I couldn’t even take it off of the pallet and that’s all I kept thinking about while I was on vacation.
I believe it's over 240lbs. Two guys are better than one when moving it around. I ended up taking it in the house piece by piece and assembly was in the kitchen. Then I just wheeled it out the sliding glass door, out on the deck. Assembly was straight forward and fairly easy.
Update,
Grill is here and assembled. Currently going through break in/seasoning. My brother helped put this thing together and wow, it’s such a quality unit. On par or better than his Recteq I helped him assemble. No issues with the Alpha Connect(yea!), so no need for 2.4ghz extender or other workarounds. My current router did a firmware update after the first of the year and added 2.4 only to the guest network.
I have no issues to mention, assembly was straight forward and it just reeks quality. Looking forward to a rib cook on Sunday. Gonna be at lacrosse fields all day tomorrow. Thanks to those who steered me towards the Grilla.

Question for the Grilla veterans, is it ok to start grill with lid closed? Seems like it would if they allow starting with app on phone. But being I had a traeger so long I’m accustomed to starting with lid open.
I’ve always started with it closed and with my food already on so it can absorb that first blast of smoke. Honestly I thought that was the recommended process and just yesterday while watching a YouTube video did I realize that I’m probably in the wrong. 10 months on and I am still here but I’m going to start opening the lid when I turn it on.
Probably wrong, I never open the lid just hit the button.
I do watch the ignition process until it's done smoking and starting to produce heat--still pretty cool.
Just watch some pellet grills pop on youtube. We'll be opening the lid from now on. Thanks for the reminder.
