Just got a Ledge Prime, what should I cook first?

Wife got me one as a gift and then the whole fam got Covid. Everyone else is still sick but I’m testing negative and feeling good and we’re all sick of DoorDash. Any ideas beyond the usual brisket/ribs/pulled pork, that would sing on this thing?

My go to for a first cook on a new cooker is chicken. Not expensive and lets me get a feel for what I can expect from it down the road.

Spatchcock that chicken . . . and learn the cooker, oh what fun.

Pork ribs. Pellet grills are perfect for these. In fact, I’m doing them on mine tomorrow.

Ribs, baby back, St Louis, or spares

Or beef plate ribs. Always a winner.

ID:	1352285 Or rolled stuffed pork loin for something a little different.

And for something really different, Schichten Braten!

        Pellet grill in a thrill
One of the first cooks I ever did on a pellet grill was no flip burgers, Frozen burgers.
Just throw them on and cook them.

Took this advice to the bank and it paid dividends- served it with some pressure cooker Asiago and fontina mashed potatoes and Meathead’s duckfat green beans. Wife’s using the leftover breast in a pot pie tonight.
