    MCS Strikes - GMG Trek

Attended a brisket class on Saturday and came home with a GMG Trek...Any suggestions or advice on pellet cookers in general or the Trek would be greatly appreciated...

Congrats. From the looks of it, I'd stick to small briskets.

RonB briskets, butts and ribs will still mainly be on the PBC or something larger...

I have the TREK. Use it for camping. It's a good unit. I've only cooked on it a few times. Chicken and Steaks. I haven't done a long cook like Pulled Pork or Brisket, but it should do the job. Have fun!

Congratulations! Enjoy your new cooker. Looking forward to pics of your first baby brisket on it.

            Congrats.
Wondering if they called it a Trek because you can fit it in a rucksack and take on a hike.

Love my Trek! Mine lives in my Winnebago! Be sure and vacuum the fire pot out after every use.

                      WOOHOO! New cooker day!

Best thing to do is spend some time getting to know it. As a general rule, you get better smoke with lower temps. So it is often advisable to start in the 180° range for a couple of hours, and then bump it up to make up for lost time.
