My burn pot doesn't burn the pellets in the initial burn in. The pot keeps filling up and then I get an error message. There is a probe installed inside the grill. Isn't this how the burn pot knows how hot to keep burning? Do you think I good manually heat up the probe to fool the burn pot into lighting the pellets? Give me some advice please THX

Several questions.
What pellet stove are you using?
Are the pellets in the pot burning and producing smoke? Maybe your igniter isn’t working.
Is your thermocouple, the little thermometer installed in the chamber, clean and connected?
Basically the igniter needs to get the pellets burning. The thermocouple then sends its reading to the controller to adjust auger rate. One or more points in the sequence isn’t performing correctly.

That metal probe sticking out in the burn pot is the igniter. It appears to not be working as the pellets show no signs of combustion. Probably a loose or disconnected wiring leading back to the controller. You can temporarily get around the issue by putting a small pile of pellets in the burn pot and using something like a propane torch to get them burning. Once the fire is started then the thermocouple and controller will handle the rest.

Did you assemble the grill yourself? If the store did it, maybe they'll come out and check the connection for you. Did Camp Chef give you an extra ignitor? Make sure the old one is connected and if not, switch out for a new one. If it is the igniter, customer service should send you a new one.

Hi All,
I have a similar problem to Wigs. I am trying to do a burn in with my new camp chef 24" wood wind pro. The startup cycle produces smoke for the designated 6 minutes. The burn pot continues to fill with pellets during this process. However, once the startup cycle is complete, there is not enough heat to light the remaining pellets in the smoker. I am using Traeger pellets so I don't think there is an issue with the pellets.
Am I doing something wrong?
Thanks
