Kamado Joe Big Joe III, PKGO, PK300, Jumbo Joe and PBC. Weber kettle @ the hunting camp.
As MCS would have it, I’m toying with the notion of getting back into the pellet world myself. After having a Traeger for years, the convenience of a pellet pooper(PP) cannot be beat. I’ve been poking around and narrowed down my options to a few. Needless to say, Traeger is not the same company they use to be when I bought mine, they were still owned by the family and over the top helpful if there were issues or if I wanted to tweak the controller.
CC, Weber and Recteq are on my short list. I particularly like the features on the CC, that sidekick is super convenient and solves some of the issues associated with PP’s not being able to properly sear.
Do you find that you’re still not getting enough smoke? I noticed they’ve tweaked the PID and auger speed to allow for more smolder in the fire pot.
Can you start/stop your cooker with the app?
Do you have a handle on how much pellets your cooker goes through?

au4stree The sidekick is what helped me choose the CC woodwind. I use it to heat oil for frying and to boil water for pasta along using the griddle on it. The smoke level is pretty much like most pellet cookers and is on the light side. The smoke tube helps but it’s never going to be like a charcoal or wood smoker IMO.
You can only shut down the cooker, can’t start it for safety reasons.
Pellet consumption just depends on the temp setting and the ambient temp outside..I don’t think it’s bad.

I have a Traeger 575 at our lake house and a Grilla Siverbac. I was between RecTeq and Grilla and went with Grilla. It’s up there with one of the best 2021 purchases. Great app too that does let you stop a cook from the app, though I don’t know about it stunning the grill on. I leave it unplugged anyway. I have done side by sides with my WSM on ribs and some other meats and `we alkali think the smoker adds great flavor. No clear winner between the two and we’re happy with the Level of smoke we get. Grilla has a PID mode and a Pro mode to choose from. I default to the pro, which allows more temp swings. I generally smoke at lower temps so I don’t know how fast it goes through pellets. I like the 180-225 range. For searing I bought Grillgrates for my genesis and will use that when I need to sear. Worked fine for Christmas Eve with prime ribs I smoked on my Grilla. Good luck with your search!

Loud enough to cover the sound of cracking open a beer.
It's nothing that bothers me, or more importantly my wife who would not be shy about commenting on it. We keep it on the same side of the patio that my gas grill and WSM are on. Noise isn't an issue at all.
