    Camp Chef repairs

I have a Camp Chef DLX pellet grill. The auger stopped working at the same time my back went out!(About 2 years ago) So, I haven't been able to bend to work on it. I want to start using it again, but I need someone qualified to work on it. I live in the Sacramento, CA area. Anybody know of someone who could fix it?

I also posted this in rules and regs by accident. Could a moderator remove it from there? Thanks.

I cannot help you with a qualified firm or person in your area to do this work. Sounds like you do not have the physical ability to work on it yourself, so even contacting Camp Chef for parts does not seem practical. Ordering a new smoker unit from a dealer that will deliver an assembled unit and haul the old one away seems like an alternative - assuming it is affordable. Take care.

I would call the BIGGEST Ace Hardware in your area --I think they still sell Camp Chef -- they should know some one or for some price send one of their BBQ specialists to help. Also, call Camp Chef and ask them to refer someone in your area. I am physically impaired too and my big Ace in Walnut Creek was super helpful --sent people at no charge

I'd check Craigslist for a local Handyman. An auger swap shouldn't be real difficult.

I agree. It isn't rocket science. Ask a neighbor/friend that can read and understand very simple installation instructions to do it for you. It's maybe a 30 minute to 1 hour job with a few simple hand tools.

Thanks to all who responded. I do have the instructions to trouble shoot from Camp Chef, but their response for repairs was to contact the retailer who sold it. I guess I'll draft my son.
I did just get an Oklahoma Joe's Bronco drum smoker that is nicely tiding me over. Been years since I cooked on charcoal.
