    Back Patio rearrange

Took the above ground pool down and it's sparked cooker setup madness! The OG and GMG Trek have to stay close to plug so I haven't moved them much. I did put a mini-worktable between the two, which should make it easier to use either or both. I confess I use the Trek more than the OG.

I pulled out all the charcoal grills to place off the concrete. These are 3 Webers (a 22" kettle, a jumbo Joe and a 14" WSM), a PBC and a Hasty Bake Ranger on a table. I've marked an area and I'm going to excavate some dirt and fill with packed mulch as a base. If this works out there could be a concrete pad extension in the future.

    Pictures tomorrow!

May want to cut a piece of hardware cloth or some kind of mesh to avoid cracks.
I love all the glass across the back of the pic. Going to be a really nice BBQ area!

Looks like a great extension, but might I suggest cheap paver slabs instead of the pea gravel? I forget if you've ever mentioned where ya live, but if you have ants in your area they will quickly fill the peagravel with dirt. Peagravel also doesn't compact so it could become a muddy mess with constant traffic.

That only looks like a few pavers would be needed, and if you concrete the area, pavers can be reused as stepping stones or cut and used as a border to a small garden.

If you wanted to be really crazy, you could make permeable/pervious concrete with portland cement and pea gravel, it's solid but it will let water drain out. I've made some for a few projects before and it's still going strong How To Make Pervious Concrete

I did buy some pavers with the pea gravel, mainly for chimney starting. That's an option for sure. Ants are bad! Good video!

This is a 10x10 area, so not that big.

CandySueQ when I made the pervious concrete before I made about half the size as your pad, but just used 2 5 gallon buckets and dumped back and forth until it was mixed, then placed in the area. One I did was for a splash pad rinse off area and it's still functioning great. Doesn't look as clean as pavers or concrete, but it doesn't look bad either. Could be a fun project for some younger family members if any are nearby

Okay, it's not perfect! But I've got to feed a bunch of folks BBQ 10/26 and if I'm going to make it to Lafayette, I've got to get busy this weekend!
