It reminds me a lot of mine. Our prior patio was concrete and only 8 feet deep. My deck is low to the ground like yours, but is 20 x 32. I built it myself during COVID. I got a small amount of help from Barbara. Hammers not really involved. The whole thing is screwed or bolted together.

Are you doing this yourself? Love the old style window shades. We used to have those on our house.

I have several Kim made me take off the man cave. She hates them! you can leave the windows open during a storm. I think they are great!
I put them up on the inside if the three car garage to save from trash. Hate to take to recycle for the price of aluminum.

TripleB I am not building it myself. The shades are nice but I am going to have to take the one over the deck off since it is about shoulder level and with the sharp edges someone will end up getting hurt.

all my cookers are on the ground still Should finish sanding my deck tomorrow and it's been dry enough I should be able to seal Monday and get everything back up on the deck this week! Still woulda rather expanded to a comparable size of your deck!

Per my experience, I hope you put a grill mat under those cookers to protect that beautiful new deck. My mat has served me well and has many battle scars on it.

Purc as I read your comment I looked out the side door and the Amazon fairy has delivered the mat I ordered. I got one to see how the size works and then I'll get a couple of them.

No pictures (evidence)...Had the first impromptu deck party tonight...the deck is 95+% complete (all that is left is to finish the stairs and gate) so my contractor and I were having adult beverages this evening when other friends showed up...can't think of a better way to "christen" the new deck...

I will post completed pictures in the near future, might have to wait until this weekends Nor'easter has left the area...

So pleased with the end results

what's better than extreme cooking on an extreme new cooking area? Finally got the MAK back up on my deck today so all the cookers are back in play, the only one I trust in the wind is the pellet grill though and not sure I really have anything I want to cook, but we'll see!
