My New Toy For The Time Of Year When It Grows Dark
My house lights do not stretch to the end of the driveway, and cooking hot dogs and ribs in the dark is tough work, not to mention trying to clean-up the grill afterwards. The MB560 requires a level surface to avoid spilling grease everywhere, so this is a new issue for me.
I liked the 360 degree movement, the touch-sensitive on/off, durability (heat & water resistant), and lifetime guarantee. Here's to the end of trying to grill with a iPhone in one hand and a spatula in the other.
JCGrill -- only one new toy not a whole Santa backpack.
Scotch: Current favorite- The Arran (anything by them), Glenmorangie 12yr Lasanta, sherry cask finished. The Balvenie Double Wood, also like Oban 18yr, and The Glenlivet Nadurra (Oloroso sherry cask finished) among others. Neat please.

I only wish they made those lights with more of a warm incandescent hue instead of bright white. I find the bright white of most LED lights impossible to see the bark color, it seems to be rather washed out.
On this subject, does anyone have a light recommendation for the 22†Weber Kettle? I’ve got the Master Touch with a removable side shelf. I hate holding a flashlight over the grill now. Has anyone got a light they really like and can recommend?
It’s made mainly for grills with round tubular handles to clamp onto. Like most gas grills have. That one wouldn’t work on a kettle, I don’t think. The only handle is right on the front of my grill, which would be cumbersome if I needed to move it while cooking. And I was thinking of something that would shine down onto the cooking area. This one looks like it would shine straight at the cooking grate if I attached it to the handle.

Here is a pic. I think it would attach to the handle easily as you can adjust the tightness. I am envisioning it essentially shining across your grill grates as it peeks over the top. You can move the head up and down as needed. You can remove.it easily if you need to move the grill while cooking.
The other lights I found have long necks that have trouble remaining stiff so they wouldn't work very well.
Thanks guys! Here’s my grill with the side shelf, which is where I’d need to place the light. This gooseneck light with a clamp is what I was thinking about. Even though it’s magnetized it would probably be easy to knock off, so I was thinking of the clamp type to clamp onto the shelf. I was wondering if anyone who had a kettle grill has tried a similar light that worked well. For my situation I’d want one I can shine down onto the food and maneuver easily.jfmorris I know you have kettles, any ideas?

Harbor Freight buys their top quality tools from the same factories that supply our competitors. We cut out the middleman and pass the savings to you!
I have a similar one that I picked up from Sear or Lowes many years ago. Seriously bright enough, and a better colour temp than most LED types. If you have a covered patio, they can be pointed up to bounce the light everywhere...so it’s not quite as harsh. Either way, they’re tall enough so that the light comes from above and you’re not staring at it constantly.

I have that one and it works pretty good. I too do not have a handle on any of my cookers that works for a place to clamp. The magnets are reasonably strong.
And the gooseneck is stiff enough to hold a position. Unlike me, that is other than my stiff back.

And I use this: fits on your head so the light goes where you look, adjustable tilt angle, adjustable brightness and intensity. Recharge using USB power adapter (I use my smartphone adapter). Of course, distractions and libations being consumed can impact what gets lit.
I have several of the magnetic/clamp on variety gathering dust. I find the headlamp variety, easy to use and they put the light where I want it (where I am looking). Mine runs on a couple of AAA batteries.
My latest thoughts: The Cave Tools light is perfect for my lighting needs at the end of the driveway, and definitely brightens up the area for when I need to cook. I can recommend it for $25.
