One thing I didn't mention is that after I put the garden gloves on, I sprinkle a little flour into the palms and rub it over the nubbly parts of the glove. That way they smoothly slide into the size XL black nitrile gloves.Originally posted by fzxdoc View Post
If I don't do this, I struggle to get the nitrile gloves over the garden gloves, and the whole time Johnny Cochran's sentence "If it doesn't fit, you must acquit" goes through my head.

Ummmmm. We conducted some pretty rigorous glove testing including inserting thermometers in them while a hot cast iron pan sat on them here https://amazingribs.com/ratings-revi...sistant-gloves
We also conducted some pretty rigorous testing of cut resistant gloves including putting hot dogs into the fingers and trying to slash them here https://amazingribs.com/ratings-revi...-cut-resistant

That’s where I got the "man-law" gloves from. They appear to be gone now, that style anyway. Great for heat shielding via RBs tests, safe to touch food and won’t soak up hot juices and oil and hold against the skin. Wish I could find them again.

I use different gloves according to what I'm doing.
Nitrile over string knit for handling hot food. Both are cheap at Harbor Freight.
Nitrile alone for prep work.
String knit alone for handling moderately hot stuff
Welding gloves for hot stuff. Found some cheap ones at a farm supply store with long gauntlets
Disposable plastic food service gloves for when I don't need a tight fit like nitrile. Dollar stores carry these with their cleaning supplies

Thank for all the suggestions. Here's what I ended up buying from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I haven't used them yet, but they fit well, and I can hold a knife with no problems.
