I bring the fireboard and a few chunks of wood for smoking. Then I wing the rest. I like a challenge :-)
Sometimes it really is a challenge, getting some good Q out of a rusted out kettle or whatever is available.
I forgot the wood chunks in my post above, good call! I take a Stanley tool box that perfectly fits my gear, including chimney, and there's a couple handfuls of wood in there at all times.
We have a place in Panama City, FL we found on Airbnb a few years ago that we go to every June. Most everything we need is already there, including a coffee maker, but I always bring my Aeropress for coffee. Also, I bring a propane burner and 10 qt. pot for some of that fresh Gulf shrimp.

havent had a vacation in since 2010. With that said my vacation is when everyone else leaves the house. Then my kettles and cast iron are unsupervised so all is meat.
I always pack two knives - usually a utility blade of 5"-6" and my custom made butcher knife (by LT Wright Knives). A shaker full of salt, pepper and garlic. I usually bring some sort of oil. Next trip will include a dutch oven.
