hmmm, This one has me stumped. It looks like a typical thermometer. they claim it is not a thermometer, merely a "Doneness Meter" that uses "Scientific Impulses" to gauge doneness. I con't find anything more specific than that.
Meanwhile, still waiting for my AMAZING knives! they had a shipping issue but expect them to arrive in the next couple of weeks! They are also offering a significant discount to us early adopters when the intrroduice new items. I cannot wait to do the review on these for you guys!!
I saw that a couple weeks ago. Looks pretty gimmicky, and they offer no explanation of not only how it works, but WHAT IT IS they are actually claiming it measures. Very strange, very shady, if you ask me.
that was my question. I need to know WHAT they are measuring to tell me what's done. meanwhile, I can cook my pork chop to 132 in my sous vide, exactly hit the temp, then sear off and have a super tender piece o' meat.
Looks like it's going down the path of the Meater. There is no end to the gadgetry that can be devised for a process that is designed to be simplistic.

the thing is, BBQ/Grill/Smoke/Live fire, it is hip, now. Millennials think they're pitmasters. and the thing they want more than anything is an easier way to do it. and all these gimmicks promise without any real idea what they're doing. and there will always be folks who will buy them, try them and go one. and the salsefolks will move on to another 'innovation.
I like Kickstarter. but, someone has to be able to actually explain what they're up to before I'll trust it.
millenials won't be happy until they can program their meal in their cell phones and have it magically appear in the replicator tray. Meanwhile, I don't understand why you'd need a cell phone to control a piece of cooking equipment which is right in front of you SMH
I've found that putting everything on a cell phone app makes things HARDER. why should i have to go get my stupid cell phone (which, in my case involves going to the store and buying one) to start my oven when I'm standing right there AT my oven?
